Floor heave characteristics and control technology of the roadway driven in deep inclined-strata
Abstract Based on in-mine instrumentation and theoretical analysis of the unsymmetrical large-deformation that occurred in the roadway after excavation, Differential Floor Heave (DFH) was found to be the main reason for roadway failure. It needs to be pointed out that the specific roadway was driven in inclined rock strata.

This study mainly explores the instability characteristics of roadways near faults in the working face. Taking the 51104 transportation roadway of the 51104 working face in Shengxin Coal Mine as the main research object, through theoretical analysis, borehole inspection, numerical simulation and on‐site mine pressure observation, the instability ...

Abstract Surface processes, including hydroclimate variations, affect crustal deformation and fault behavior. These controls are especially important for intrarift faults in continental rift systems, which accommodate substantial strain while experiencing large hydrological load variations beneath rift lakes.

Anatomy of Interannual to Decadal Sea Level Changes in the GECCO3 Ocean Synthesis
Abstract The GECCO3 synthesis is used to infer a dynamically consistent decomposition of sea level changes (variability and trends) on interannual to decadal time scales. Over most parts of the global ocean equatorward of 60° latitude, sea level variability and trends can be explained almost completely by the upper ocean (above 2,000 m) steric ...

ABSTRACT This article explores Australian media commentary on white Rhodesians migrating to Australia, focusing on the period of Malcolm Fraser's prime ministership (1975–1983). The main argument is that the Australian media debates about whether to classify white Rhodesians as ‘migrants’ or ‘refugees’ were not merely semantic but reflected a deeper ...

Data from: Strain energy analysis of floor heave in longwall gateroads
Floor heave in longwall gateroads is a severe issue that affects the mining safety and efficiency. Researchers, however, have limited understanding on the floor heave mechanism because the deformation of the post-failure rocks in the floor is seldom ...

Secondary frost heave in freezing soils [PDF]
Frost heave describes the phenomenon whereby soil freezing causes upwards surface motion due to the action of capillary suction imbibing water from the unfrozen region below. The expansion of water on freezing is a small part of the overall surface heave

On 3‐MMC: A Cathinone I Have Come to Know and Love
ABSTRACT This article attempts to complicate the mythology of a compound in a state of becoming. I will trace lightly its origins as a cultural disruptor and how I am implicated in this imperative. Introducing you to 3‐MMC will require multiple modes of storytelling and taking of liberties, drawing on literature reviews, practice‐based research, prose,
