A survey of floral traits, breeding systems, floral visitors, and pollination systems of the angiosperms of the Juan Fernández Islands (Chile)

open access: yesThe Botanical Review, 2001
A survey of the reproductive features of the angiosperm flora of the Juan Fernandez Archipelago (Chile) is presented to provide a species-based review of reproduction and pollination, to identify generalizations associated with these systems, to understand the evolution of these features, and to utilize these data to promote conservation.

Pollen Morphology of Crucianella L. (Rubiaceae) Based on Light and Scanning Electron Microscope Data and Implications for Taxonomy

open access: yesMicroscopy Research and Technique, EarlyView.
This study provides the palynological analysis of 12 Crucianella L. taxa using LM and SEM. Variations in pollen size, aperture number, and exine ornamentation were identified as key traits, demonstrating their taxonomic value for distinguishing closely related species and subspecies within the genus. ABSTRACT Crucianella L.

Effect of green spaces and floral composition on the community of flower visitors in a piedmont city in Argentina

open access: yesEcología Austral
In cities, human activities transform the native composition of plant communities into a mixture of native and exotic species. This new plant community shapes the composition of floral visitor communities persisting in urban environments.

A Chance‐Constrained Model for a Production Routing Problem With Uncertain Availability of Vehicles

open access: yesNetworks, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Production Routing Problem (PRP) is a complex integrated problem that allows for the achievement of competitive advantages, such as better management of inventory, reduction in operational costs and lead times, improvement in efficiency and customer service, and better response to market changes.

Biogeography and diversification patterns in the Irano‐Turanian biodiversity hotspots inferred from a molecular phylogeny of the subendemic Iris subgenus Scorpiris (Iridaceae)

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
The Irano‐Turanian Floristic Region harbors a rich flora, but our understanding of the development of this diversity is limited by a lack of data on phylogenetic relationships and biogeographic patterns of endemic and more widespread plants. Hypotheses of in situ diversification versus allopatric diversification were tested using Iris subgen. Scorpiris,

On the botanical history and nomenclature of the New World genus Piscidia (Fabaceae)

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Piscidia L. (Fabaceae) is a New World genus with nine recognized taxa (seven species and two varieties). The previous nomenclatural revisions, made in 1910 and in 1969, are revisited here. The names Derris grandifolia Heyde & Lux ex Donn.Sm. and P. cubensis Urb. required step II lectotypifications, with an epitype for the latter name.
