Prevalence of Antimicrobial Use in Small Animal Dermatology Referral Practices in the United States
ABSTRACT Background Antimicrobial resistance is a critical global health concern driven by antimicrobial use. Dermatological conditions are common reasons for antimicrobial prescriptions in small animal practice, yet data on prescribing patterns in veterinary dermatology referral settings are lacking. Hypothesis/Objectives To characterise the frequency,

Residue depletion laws of florfenicol and its metabolite florfenicol amine in eggs
A study on florfenicol (FF) and florfenicol amine (FFA) residue depletion raws was conducted in eggs. After the chickens were administered successively florfenicol (FF) powder of 15 mg/kg (prevention group) and 30 mg/kg (treatment group) of body mass in the form of premix for 5 d, the eggs of each group were collected at administration period and 1, 2,

The 2:1 chlorhexidine–clotrimazole combination demonstrated enhanced antibacterial activity against canine Staphylococcus pseudintermedius isolates, including resistant strains. Reduced MIC values, predominantly additive interactions and absence of antagonism support its use as a promising topical strategy for canine pyoderma management.

ABSTRACT In this study, we investigated the immunomodulatory effects of St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) oil on the growth performance, immune responses and resistance against Lactococcus garvieae in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). The plant oil was incorporated into feeds at concentrations of 1, 3, and 5 g kg−1, designated as K1, K3, and K5,

Probiotic Engraftment and Suppression of Canine Otitis Externa Pathogens by Probiotic Ear Drops
Background: Lactobacillaceae have shown promise with their potential to outcompete pathogens and restore a healthy microbial balance in otitis externa (OE). Hypothesis/Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the presence of viable Lactobacillaceae over time and in vitro ability to inhibit the growth of common OE pathogens.
