Estimation of the mean floristic similarity between and within sets of vegetational relevés

Folia Geobotanica et Phytotaxonomica, 1966
Various possibilities of usingSorensen’s coefficient of floristic similarity in plant sociology are summarized. A new formula (11). derived from that bySorensen and based on constancy values, is suggested in order to calculate the mean floristic similarity within a set of releves.

Delimitation and Ranking of Floristic-Sociological Units on the Basis of Relevé Similarity

Vegetatio, 1977
The present information deals with the possibility of using coefficients of releve similarity for the delimitation of units in floristic-sociological synsystematics in the sense as used by the Braun-Blanquet approach.

Computer assisted floristic similarity analysis

Folia Geobotanica et Phytotaxonomica, 1971
A program for polythetic numerical evaluation of phytosociological material is described. Using Sorensen's coefficient of floristic similarity it computes the homogeneity of subjectively chosen sets of releves, the affinity of each constituent releve to the set as well as the similarity between any pair of sets.

Upward shift of alpine plants increases floristic similarity of mountain summits

Journal of Vegetation Science, 2007
AbstractQuestion: Does the upward shift of species and accompanied increase in species richness, induced by climate change, lead to homogenization of Alpine summit vegetation?Location: Bernina region of the Swiss Alps. Methods: Based on a data set from previous literature we expand the analysis from species richness to beta‐diversity and spatial ...
