Oxygen Vacancy‐Mediated Bi─O Unsaturation Coordination in BiOCl for Efficient Photocatalytic Water Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The incorporation of oxygen vacancies (OVs) presents a viable strategy for fine‐tuning the photocatalytic prowess of BiOCl. A reliable hydrogen annealing reduction technique is employed to precisely design OVs, thereby optimizing the light absorption capacity, as well as the efficiency of carrier migration and separation in BiOCl.

Feeding habits and dietary overlap of age-0 winter flounder (Pseudopleuronectes americanus) and summer flounder (Paralichthys dentatus) in southern New England tidal rivers

open access: yes, 2017
Age-0 winter flounder (Pseudopleuronectes americanus; 20-90 mm in total length [TL]) and summer flounder (Paralichthys dentatus; 19-172 mm TL) were collected from the Seekonk and Taunton Rivers (in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, respectively) from May ...

Ag Nanowire‐Integrated MoS2/ZnO Heterojunctions for Highly Efficient Photogenerated Charge Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 11, Issue 6, May 2025.
A versatile strategy is reported for fabricating multi‐dimensional heterojunctions with significantly improved charge transfer capability. By integrating Ag nanowires with a MoS2/ZnO heterojunction, a fourfold increase in surface photovoltage is achieved, reaching 200 mV under visible light illumination.

The Effects of Environmental Changes on the Heart Rate of Japanese Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus)

open access: yes, 1996
The changes of heart rate were studied in Japanese flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) when exposed to light stimuli. We examined the electrocardiogram (ECG) of Japanese flounder exposed to light, to determine the physiological effects on fish.

Labeling Quality or Quantity? The Differential Impact of Geographical Indications on Export Performance in Turkish Agri‐Food Products

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact of geographical indication (GI) certification on the export performance of Turkish agri‐food products by analyzing both trade volume and unit value dynamics. Drawing on monthly data from 2000 to 2024 across 22 GI‐certified products, the research employs product‐level regressions, fixed‐effects panel models ...

Effects of tributyltin on the immune system of Japanese flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus)

open access: yes, 2007
Effects of tributyltin (TBT) which has been used for antifouling paint of ship's hulls and fishing nets on the immune system in Japanese flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) were investigated.

Unpacking the Farmland Capitalization Effect of Ethanol Establishment

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We unpack the impact of expansions in ethanol production—as measured by proximity to newly constructed ethanol plants and capacity expansions—on farmland values using land transaction data from Kansas in combination with modern causal inference techniques.

An early warning system for flounder disease

open access: yes, 2009
: With the constant expansion of the scale and mismanagement in aquaculture, the diseases of flounder occur more and more frequently than before, which has brought great economic losses to fish farmers.

Differences in CYP1A response between flounder (Platichthys flesus) and plaice (Pleuronectes platessa) after long-term exposure to harbour dredged spoil in a mesocosm study

open access: yes, 1996
Flounder (Platichthys flesus) and plaice (Pleuronectes platessa) were exposed to three different levels of pollution involving contaminants from harbour dredged spoil in a large-scale mesocosm study lasting 30 months.
