Job Flows, Worker Flows, and Churning

Journal of Labor Economics, 2000
We utilize a large employer‐level panel dataset to explore the links between gross job flows and gross worker flows. Our findings have relevance for models of job creation and job destruction, and labor reallocation. We find churning flows (the difference between worker and job flows at the level of the employer) to be high, pervasive, and highly ...

Flow Cytometry

Hematology/Oncology Clinics of North America, 2018
Multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) is valuable in the diagnosis and monitoring of most hematological malignancies. Although the assessment of cellular infiltrates in Waldenström macroglobulinemia (WM) relies on morphology and immunohistochemistry grounds, there is evidence pointing to the clinical significance of MFC in this disease.

Flow cytogenetics

Biology of the Cell, 1986
Classical cytogenetics is often tedious and many efforts have been made to develop other methods of chromosome analysis, among which flow karyotyping has recently emerged. Although less efficient than banding techniques to identify each chromosome, flow cytometry offers the opportunity of analyzing large quantities of chromosomes at a very high rate ...

Flow chemistry vs. flow analysis

Talanta, 2016
The flow mode of conducting chemical syntheses facilitates chemical processes through the use of on-line analytical monitoring of occurring reactions, the application of solid-supported reagents to minimize downstream processing and computerized control systems to perform multi-step sequences.

Flow work, flow

Manufacturing Engineer, 1992
When output isn't what it should be, and the losses are piling up, it is easy to look at the internal workings of the factory for the answer. But what about external influences? Vic Lilley explains.

Causal Flow

IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, 2011
Optical flow is a widely used technique for extracting flow information from video images. While it is useful for estimating temporary movement in video images, it only captures one aspect of extracting dominant flow information from a sequence of video images.

Flow-Flow Models

1987
Self-sufficient models of the flow of funds go beyond the constraints of simple identities. One type developed by Stone (1966) is a “financial input-output” model. Programming models are a closely related class. A third category can be described as a model of circular flow.

Potential flow, viscous flow and compressible flow

1992
Abstract At the close of Chapter 16 the Navier-Stokes, continuity, and thermal energy equations for fluid flow were introduced. The present chapter presents finite element formulations for a wide range of fluid flow problems governed by these equations. Of particular interest are the uvp or primitive variable formulations for Stokes flow.
