Electric fields as a means of controlling thin film flow over topography [PDF]
This paper was presented at the 2nd Micro and Nano Flows Conference (MNF2009), which was held at Brunel University, West London, UK. The conference was organised by Brunel University and supported by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, IPEM, the ...

Reflection of an acoustic line source by an impedance surface with uniform flow [PDF]
An exact analytic solution is derived for the 2D acoustic pressure field generated by a time-harmonic line mass source located above an impedance surface with uniform grazing flow. Closed-form asymptotic solutions in the far-field are also provided.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Impacts of the gap size between two bluff bodies on the flow field within the gap [PDF]
When two bluff bodies is in close tandem, i.e, the distance between blocks D is less than half of the height of the body H, the flow field is very similar to that in the gap between tractor and trailer in a truck, and hence understanding such a flow ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Measurement and simulation of the flow field around a triangular lattice meteorological mast [PDF]
The international standard IEC 61400-12-1 “Wind turbines – Part 12-1: Power performance measurements of electricity producing wind turbines” aims to provide a uniform methodology that will ensure consistency, accuracy and reproducibility in the ...

Cassini encounters with hot flow anomaly-like phenomena at Saturn's bow shock [PDF]
The first observations of the kronian equivalent of hot flow anomalies (HFAs) are presented. Using magnetic field and plasma data we discuss two events that were observed upstream of Saturn's bow shock during the first two orbits of the Cassini ...

Influence of spool diffusion profile on flow characteristics of turbine control valve
ObjectiveTo address the operational instability, vibration, and abnormal noise in a specific steam turbine unit, this study proposes a method for modifying the internal flow characteristics of the control valve through an internally-cut valve core ...

Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.
