Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Evolution of the flow field in decaying active regions, Transition from a moat flow to a supergranular flow

open access: yes, 2018
We investigate the evolution of the horizontal flow field around sunspots during their decay by analysing its extension and horizontal velocity around eight spots using SDO/HMI Doppler maps.

Turbulent transport and dynamo in sheared MHD turbulence with a non-uniform magnetic field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamics turbulence in the presence of velocity and magnetic shear (i.e., with both a large-scale shear flow and a nonuniform magnetic field).

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

The Influence of Interlocking Labyrinth Seal Cavity Dimension on Leakage

open access: yes机车电传动, 2012
Taking the labyrinth seal of the transmission gearbox for a certain type of high-power locomotives as researching object, twodimensional structured grid model of the interlocking labyrinth channel was set up by means of software GAMBI.

Flow Field of Ultrasonic Flow Meter

open access: yesJournal of the Visualization Society of Japan, 2003
Basic principle of ultrasonic flow meters is to measure the traveling time difference of ultrasonic wave between the go and back signals traveling through gas flows. The flow fields are one of the most important factors of the meter quality together with the sensors and the electronic systems.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Flow field analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
The average mean wind speed integrated over a disk is shown to be extremely close to the mean value of wind speed which would be measured at the center of a disk for most geometries in which a WECS (Wind Energy Conversion System) would operate.

Can core-surface flow models be used to improve the forecast of the Earth's main magnetic field? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
[1] Geomagnetic main field models used for navigation are updated every 5 years and contain a forecast of the geomagnetic secular variation for the upcoming epoch. Forecasting secular variation is a difficult task.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
