Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Flow under Sluice Gates [PDF]
The flow characteristics upstream and downstream of sluice gates are studied experimentally and numerically using Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes two-dimensional simulations with a volume of fluid method.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Fast prediction of the performance of the centrifugal pump based on reduced-order model
In the present paper, the prediction of the performance of a centrifugal pump is investigated based on proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) reduced-order model (ROM).

A Study on the Structure of the Flow Field in Premixed Jet Flames
In this paper, detailed data on flow fields in premixed jet flames are systematically collected to know their structure over the whole region. It was found from the measurements by LDV that the correlation of axial and radial velocity fluctuations -(u'v')^^- shows a remarkable negative value near the flame front (F.F.), and that a change in the sign of

Crustal structure of the spreading plate boundary in Iceland and the north Atlantic from gravity data [PDF]
Gravity datasets from two geothermal areas in Iceland, an Iceland-wide gravity dataset, and marine gravity data from the Reykjanes Ridge at 58˚N, which can be seen as the submarine extension of the Icelandic accretionary system, have been studied in this

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Energy flow structuring in the focused field
We propose an iterative method of energy flow shaping in the focal region with the amplitude, phase and polarization modulation of incident light. By using an iterative optimization based on the diffraction calculation with help of the fast Fourier transform, we can tailor the polarization and phase structure in the focal plane.

Numerical Simulation of Flow Field Formed in Water Pump-Sump [PDF]
Two fundamental types of flow problems besetting water intakes are swirling flow problems in the pump sump and sediment problems at entrance or within intakes.

Measurement and control systems for an imaging electromagnetic flow meter
Electromagnetic flow metres based on the principles of Faraday's laws of induction have been used successfully in many industries. The conventional electromagnetic flow metre can measure the mean liquid velocity in axisymmetric single phase flows ...

Hydrological controls on diurnal ice flow variability in valley glaciers [PDF]
This paper uses a combination of field data and three-dimensional modeling to investigate the spatial variability in basal conditions required to induce observed fluctuations in diurnal ice velocity at Haut Glacier d'Arolla, Switzerland.
