Incompressible flow in porous media with fractional diffusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper we study the heat transfer with a general fractional diffusion term of an incompressible fluid in a porous medium governed by Darcy's law. We show formation of singularities with infinite energy and for finite energy we obtain existence and

Flow Simulation of Artificially Induced Microfractures Using Digital Rock and Lattice Boltzmann Methods

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Microfractures have great significance in the study of reservoir development because they are an effective reserving space and main contributor to permeability in a large amount of reservoirs.

Sensitivity analysis and economic optimization studies of inverted five-spot gas cycling in gas condensate reservoir

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2017
Gas condensate reservoirs usually exhibit complex flow behaviors because of propagation response of pressure drop from the wellbore into the reservoir.

Evaluation of a Volume-Averaged Species Transport Model with Micro–Macro Coupling for Breakthrough Curve Prediction

open access: yesMolecules
In porous water filters, the transport and entrapment of contaminants can be modeled as a classic mass transport problem, which employs the conventional convection–dispersion equation to predict the transport of species existing in trace amounts.

Fracture Model Reduction and Optimization for Forchheimer Flows in Reservoir

open access: yes, 2017
In this study, we analyze the flow filtration process of slightly compressible fluids in fractured porous media. We model the coupled fractured porous media system, where the linear Darcy flow is considered in porous media and the nonlinear Forchheimer ...

Numerical simulation of combined mixing and separating flow in channel filled with porous media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Various flow bifurcations are investigated for two dimensional combined mixing and separating geometry. These consist of two reversed channel flows interacting through a gap in the common separating wall filled with porous media of Newtonian fluids and ...

Dynamics of Wetting Fronts in Porous Media

open access: yes, 1998
We propose a new phenomenological approach for describing the dynamics of wetting front propagation in porous media. Unlike traditional models, the proposed approach is based on dynamic nature of the relation between capillary pressure and medium ...

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.
