Partial Oscillation Flow Control on Airfoil at Low Reynolds Numbers

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Among the critical factors contributing to the decline in the aerodynamic performance of near-space aircraft under low Reynolds number conditions, a significant one lies in the occurrence of laminar separation bubbles forming on the wings.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Flow Mechanism Analysis of Engine Valve Deviation Under Braking Conditions

open access: yesFluids
The valve serves as the actuating component within the valve mechanism. Under braking conditions, the valve is prone to swaying, which significantly compromises the reliability and service life of the engine.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Development of a Self-Cleaning Mechanism for Torque-Flow Pumps

open access: yesЖурнал інженерних наук
The design of reliable and durable pumping units is consistent with the achievement of a number of the United Nations’ sustainable development goals (SDG), in particular, “Clean water and proper sanitation” (SDG 6), “Affordable and clean energy” (SDG 7),

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Elastic waves in Maxwell fluid-saturated porous media with the squirt flow mechanism

open access: yes, 2010
Based on Biot-Tsiklauri model and the combined Biot/squirt model, a universal acoustic model for non-Newtonian fluid (Maxwell fluid) saturated porous medium with an arbitrary pore size distribution is presented, in which the squirt-flow mechanism has ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
