Linear peristaltic pump based on electromagnetic actuators [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2014
In this paper a study and design of a linear peristaltic pump are presented. A set of electromagnetic (solenoid) actuators is used as the active tools to drag the liquid by crushing an elastic tube.

Flow transitions in two-dimensional foams

open access: yes, 2006
For sufficiently slow rates of strain, flowing foam can exhibit inhomogeneous flows. The nature of these flows is an area of active study in both two-dimensional model foams and three dimensional foam. Recent work in three-dimensional foam has identified

Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.

Nutritional and Behavioral Intervention for Long‐Term Childhood Acute Leukemia Survivors With Metabolic Syndrome

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a common complication in survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic and myeloid leukemia (AL), and a major risk factor for premature cardiovascular disease, type‐2‐diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).

The MedSupport Multilevel Intervention to Enhance Support for Pediatric Medication Adherence: Development and Feasibility Testing

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction We developed MedSupport, a multilevel medication adherence intervention designed to address root barriers to medication adherence. This study sought to explore the feasibility and acceptability of the MedSupport intervention strategies to support a future full‐scale randomized controlled trial.

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Patients With Osteosarcoma: Local Control Outcomes With Dosimetric Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Osteosarcoma is a radioresistant tumor that may benefit from stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for locoregional control in metastatic/recurrent disease. We report institutional practice patterns, outcomes, toxicity, and failures in osteosarcoma patients treated with SBRT.

Effect of pad water flow rate on evaporative cooling system efficiency in laying hen housing

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Engineering, 2020
An experiment was conducted in three commercial laying hen houses with 32-week-old hens in the summer of 2017 in a commercial farm in Gharbia Province, Egypt (31.06ºN, 31.16ºE) using an evaporative pad cooling system to determine the most suitable water ...
