Thermal Simulation of Pipeline Flow [PDF]
A new numerical method is presented for solving problems of one-dimensional fluid flows in pipelines with significant thermal effects. The method can be considered as a generalization to straightforward collocation. Pressure and velocity are still approximated by continuous piecewise-linear functions, but temperature is approximated with velocity ...

A numerical flow simulation of a mixed flow pump [PDF]
Mixed flow pumps are primarily axial flow pumps, but they impart some degree of radial and swirling momentum to the pump fluid as it passes through the rotor section.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Evershed and counter-Evershed flows in sunspot MHD simulations
There have been a few reports in the literature of counter-Evershed flows observed in well developed sunspot penumbrae, i.e. flows directed towards the umbra along penumbral filaments. Here we investigate the driving forces of such counter-Evershed flows
