Elliptic flow and incomplete equilibration at RHIC
We argue that RHIC data, in particular those on the anisotropic flow coefficients v_2 and v_4, suggest that the matter produced in the early stages of nucleus-nucleus collisions is incompletely thermalized.

Permeability Prediction for Nahr-Umr Reservoir / Subba field by Using FZI Method
The permeability determination in the reservoirs that are anisotropic and heterogeneous is a complicated problem due to the limited number of wells that contain core samples and well test data.

A rational method for determining intermittency in the transitional boundary layer [PDF]
A new rational procedure is proposed for determining the intermittency in the streamwise direction. One of the key parameters for the intermittency determination is the selection of a threshold value, which often involves a certain level of subjectivity.

Vertical Distribution of Calcite at Yucca Mountain, Nevada, as an Indicator of Flow Through a Thick Unsaturated Zone [PDF]
Meteoric water percolating through 500 to 700 m of hydrologically unsaturated felsic tuffs provides a mechanism for release and transport of radionuclides from a potential high-level radioactive waste repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. Modern flow through the unsaturated zone (UZ) is low (probably 0.9, CO{sub 2}-intercept Ca concentrations in the ...

Acoustic and Large Eddy Simulation studies of azimuthal modes in annular combustion chambers [PDF]
The objectives of this paper are the description of azimuthal instability modes found in annular combus- tion chambers using two numerical tools: (1) Large Eddy Simulation (LES) methods and (2) acoustic solv- ers.

Flow Pattern in A Horizontal Primary Separator with a Perforated Baffle
It is important in any gravity separator to provide uniform flow conditions between the inlet and the outlets. In this study, two-dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling was used to reveal the problems of a conventional primary gravity ...
