Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of Integrative Neuromuscular Training for Childhood Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...

Resistivity zone index: A new approach in rock typing to enhance reservoir characterization using well log data

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2021
Rock typing of reservoirs is a vital step for successful field development plans to improve oil and gas recovery. In this context, the current study addresses a new approach for reservoir rocks characterization based on their electrical properties ...

A network mobility indicator using a fuzzy logic approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper introduces a methodology to assess the mobility of a road transport network from the 3 network perspective. In this research, the mobility of the road transport network is defined as the 4 ability of the road transport network to connect all ...

Bioassay-guided isolation and identification of antimicrobial compounds from thyme essential oil by means of overpressured layer chromatography, bioautography and GC-MS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A simple method is described for efficient isolation of compounds having an antibacterial effect. Two thyme (Thymus vulgaris) essential oils, obtained from the market, were chosen as prospective materials likely to feature several bioactive components ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Impact of rock fabric on flow unit characteristics in selected reservoir sandstones from West Baram Delta Offshore, Sarawak

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2019
The successful application of enhance oil recovery (EOR) technology requires an accurate understanding of the internal architecture of reservoirs and complex distribution of flow unit characteristics within different lithofacies.

Toward Label‐Free Optical Multiplexing of Analytes in Indicator Release Lateral Flow Assays via Detection Zones Containing Tailored Capture Materials

open access: yesAnalysis & Sensing, 2022
AbstractThe use of macromolecules and materials immobilized in the detection zone of test strips for indicator capture and focusing in label‐free lateral flow assays (LFAs) is described, with emphasis on its future use in low number multiplexing. Several materials such as polyelectrolytes, functionalized mesoporous silica micro‐ and nanoparticles ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Phenotypic Variation across Chromosomal Hybrid Zones of the Common Shrew (Sorex araneus) Indicates Reduced Gene Flow

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Sorex araneus, the Common shrew, is a species with more than 70 karyotypic races, many of which form parapatric hybrid zones, making it a model for studying chromosomal speciation. Hybrids between races have reduced fitness, but microsatellite markers have demonstrated considerable gene flow between them, calling into question whether the chromosomal ...
