The Effect of Germicides on the Longevity of Cut Flowers [PDF]
The effect of DICA (50 mg·liter -1 ), BCDMH (12 mg available chlorine/liter), and HQC (250 mg-liter]) on the longevity of 14 popular cut flower species was assessed. Longevity was significantly extended in: Rosa hybrida L. `Gabrielle' and

Studies for stabilization of flower color and cut flower longevity [PDF]
My research interest is in the physiology and ecology of ornamental plants. Here, I introduce my research subjects on the stabilization of flower color and cut flower longevity. Seasonal color change of dahlia (Dahlia variabilis) is studied as practical

Postharvest physiology of cut flowers
The longevity of cut flowers is limited by their ephemeral nature and by multiple stresses. Impairment in water uptake, depletion of stored carbohydrates, increases in both respiratory activity and ethylene production are signatures of flower senescence.

Effect of Different Concentrations and Application Methods of Putrescine Application on Vase Life, Some Physiological Parameters and Enzymatic Activity of Carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) Flowers [PDF]
Introduction Carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) is one of the most important cut flowers of the world. This flower is sensitive to postharvest ethylene and water stress and has short vase life. The use of retardants or inhibitors compounds of ethylene

Vase life of cut Lilium pumilum inflorescences with salicylic acid
The demand for flowers and ornamental plants has significantly increased in recent years. However, in most cases, the production of such species is accompanied by inappropriate postharvest handling, which is responsible for significant losses of ...

High production temperature increases postproduction flower longevity and reduces bud drop of potted, miniature roses ‘Meirutral’ and ‘Meidanclar’ [PDF]
The effect of two temperature regimes (29 °C day/24 °C night and 24 °C day/18 °C night) and of a 4-hour night interruption, during production, was studied on postproduction flower longevity and bud drop of ‘Meirutral’ and ‘Meidanclar’ potted, miniature ...
