High Al-content metallic amorphous alloys have an unusual devitrification behavior. Upon annealing, alloys made by a rapid quench develop a high density (>1021 m-3) of pure Al nanocrystals.

High Order Fluctuation Splitting Schemes for Hyperbolic Conservation Laws [PDF]
This thesis presents the construction, the analysis and the verification of a new form of higher than second order fluctuation splitting discretisation for the solution of steady conservation laws on unstructured meshes.

Terrestrial gravity fluctuations [PDF]
AbstractTerrestrial gravity fluctuations are a target of scientific studies in a variety of fields within geophysics and fundamental-physics experiments involving gravity such as the observation of gravitational waves. In geophysics, these fluctuations are typically considered as signal that carries information about processes such as fault ruptures ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Energetics of quantum vacuum friction. II. Dipole fluctuations and field fluctuations: Dipole fluctuations and field fluctuations [PDF]
Quantum vacuum friction experienced by an atom, where the only dissipative mechanism is through its interaction with the radiation field, has been studied in our recent paper [Phys. Rev. D 104, 116006 (2021)PRVDAQ2470-001010.1103/PhysRevD.104.116006].

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
