Fluctuation theorem: A critical review
Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2017Fluctuation theorem for entropy production is revisited in the framework of stochastic processes. The applicability of the fluctuation theorem to physico-chemical systems and the resulting stochastic thermodynamics were analyzed. Some unexpected limitations are highlighted in the context of jump Markov processes.

Abstract We introduce a theoretical technique known as the two-point measurement scheme, which allows us to derive a variety of quantum fluctuation theorems with the same form as in classical stochastic thermodynamics. Alternatively, we show how to study fluctuations based on a quantum master equation approach combined with counting ...

AbstractWe formulate an abstract fluctuation theorem which sheds light on mathematical relations between the fluctuation theorems of Bochkov and Kuzovlev [Contribution to the general theory of thermal fluctuations in nonlinear systems. Fluctuation theorem for nonequilibrium reactions
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2004A fluctuation theorem is derived for stochastic nonequilibrium reactions ruled by the chemical master equation. The theorem is expressed in terms of the generating and large-deviation functions characterizing the fluctuations of a quantity which measures the loss of detailed balance out of thermodynamic equilibrium.
