The instantaneous fluctuation theorem [PDF]
We give a derivation of a new instantaneous fluctuation relation for an arbitrary phase function which is odd under time reversal. The form of this new relation is not obvious, and involves observing the system along its transient phase space trajectory both before and after the point in time at which the fluctuations are being compared. We demonstrate

Characterizing the Non-equilibrium Dynamics of Field-Driven Correlated Quantum Systems
Recent experimental advances in ultrafast phenomena have triggered renewed interest in the dynamics of correlated quantum systems away from equilibrium.

Spatial fluctuation theorem [PDF]
For non-equilibrium systems of interacting particles and for interacting diffusions in d dimensions, a novel fluctuation relation is derived. The theorem establishes a quantitative relation between the probabilities of observing two current values in ...

The question of how reversible microscopic equations of motion can lead to irreversible macroscopic behaviour has been one of the central issues in statistical mechanics for more than a century. The basic issues were known to Gibbs. Boltzmann conducted a very public debate with Loschmidt and others without a satisfactory resolution.

Fluctuation theorems: Work is not an observable [PDF]
The characteristic function of the work performed by an external time-dependent force on a Hamiltonian quantum system is identified with the time-ordered correlation function of the exponentiated system's Hamiltonian. A similar expression is obtained for the averaged exponential work which is related to the free energy difference of equilibrium systems

Relativistic fluctuation theorems [PDF]
To reveal how nonequilibrium physics and relativity theory intertwine, this article studies relativistic Brownian motion under cosmic expansion. Two fluctuation theorems for the entropy Δ s , which is locally produced in this extreme nonequilibrium situation, are presented and proven.

Fluctuation-dissipation theorem for non-equilibrium quantum systems [PDF]
The fluctuation-dissipation theorem (FDT) is a central result in statistical physics, both for classical and quantum systems. It establishes a relationship between the linear response of a system under a time-dependent perturbation and time correlations ...
