Ensemble density functional theory: insight from the fluctuation-dissipation theorem
Density functional theory can be generalized to mixtures of ground and excited states, for the purpose of determining energies of excitations using low-cost density functional approximations. Adapting approximations originally developed for ground states

Thermodynamic Geometry of Yang–Mills Vacua
We study vacuum fluctuation properties of an ensemble of S U ( N ) gauge theory configurations, in the limit of many colors, viz. N c → ∞ , and explore the statistical nature of the topological susceptibility by analyzing its

Magnetic quantum and spin-wave behavior of three-layer graphene-like materials
This study examines the spin-wave and magnetic quantum behavior of three-layer graphene-like based on the Heisenberg model. The system is diagonally solved for Hamiltonian quantities using the linear spin wave theory and postponed Green's functions.

ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.

Partition polynomials in fluctuation theory
In the present paper the BELL and TOUCHARD partition polynomials have been used in expressing certain probabilities in finite fluctuation problems in random walks. The study of these probabilities is simplified by using properties of these polynomials.

ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

Mixed Periodic-Classical Barrier Strategies for Lévy Risk Processes
Given a spectrally-negative Lévy process and independent Poisson observation times, we consider a periodic barrier strategy that pushes the process down to a certain level whenever the observed value is above it.

ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a chronic, inherited hemoglobinopathy that requires frequent hospitalization for disease‐related complications. Canadian data on inpatient care is limited. This study compared caregiver‐reported hospital experiences of children with SCD to those with cystic fibrosis (CF), a chronic, autosomal recessive ...

Information in Biological Systems and the Fluctuation Theorem
Some critical trends in information theory, its role in living systems and utilization in fluctuation theory are discussed. The mutual information of thermodynamic coupling is incorporated into the generalized fluctuation theorem by using information ...
