Investigation of a combined gas-steam system with flue gas recirculation [PDF]

open access: yesChemical and Process Engineering, 2016
This article presents changes in the operating parameters of a combined gas-steam cycle with a CO2 capture installation and flue gas recirculation. Parametric equations are solved in a purpose-built mathematical model of the system using the Ebsilon ...

Investigation and Evaluation of Flue Gas Pollutants Emission in Waste-to-Energy Plant with Flue Gas Recirculation

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2022
The emissions of pollutants by waste-to-energy power plants, which contain more toxic substances owing to the complicated composition of municipal solid waste (MSW), such as NOx, SO2, HCl, HF, particulate matter, and heavy metals, has attracted ...

The Effects of Coke Parameters and Circulating Flue Gas Characteristics on NOx Emission during Flue Gas Recirculation Sintering Process

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
The new process of flue gas recirculation, which reduces coke consumption and reducing NOx emissions, is now extensively used. Compared with traditional sintering, the characteristics of circulating flue gas and coke parameters significantly affect the ...

Pilot Scale Test of Flue Gas Recirculation for the Silicon Process [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sustainable Metallurgy, 2022
AbstractFlue gas recirculation (FGR) for the silicon process may facilitate increasing the CO2 concentration in the off-gas, which will be beneficial for potential future carbon capture. Lower oxygen concentration in the combustion gas will also reduce NOX emissions. An existing 400 kVA Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) pilot setup was modified to be able to

Numerical Simulation of the Combustion Characteristics in a Flue Gas Internal Recirculation Burner [PDF]

open access: yesACS Omega, 2022
The combustion characteristics and NOx emissions of a newly designed flue gas internal recirculation low-NOx burner (FIR) were studied. In the study, experimental and numerical simulations of the FIR low-NOx burner were conducted under natural inlet air conditions at three different powers.

Long-term electrochemical carbon capture from diverse CO2 sources with a recirculation mode [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications
Electrochemical carbon capture offers a sustainable pathway for carbon management, yet current systems are hindered by low concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2), resulting in inefficiencies and limited stability.

Combination of Primary Measures on Flue Gas Emissions in Grate-Firing Biofuel Boiler

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Increasingly stringent limits for NOx and SO2 emission are forcing the investigation of new reduction methods. This study was conducted to determine the combination of primary measures, i.e., flue gas recirculation (FGR) and excess air effects on sulfur,

An Experimental Investigation on the Effect of Exhaust Gas Recirculation in a Small-scale Fixed Bed Biomass Boiler

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2022
Exhaust gas recirculation is a technique that allows for controlling the combustion chamber temperature and reducing the NOx and particle matter emissions. Moreover, it helps to mitigate soot formation and ash agglomeration in combustion systems.

EFFECT OF FLUE GAS RECIRCULATION ON BURNER PERFORMANCE AND EMISSIONS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Al-Azhar University Engineering Sector, 2016
Flue gas recirculation (FGR) is an effective applicable way to reduce emissions. In the present study, external FGR was employed in non-premixed combustion using kerosene as liquid fuel to investigate its effect on flame stability, appearance and emissions. Flame stability can be attained through a reasonable range of recycling ratios up to 40%.
