Hydrothermal Embedding of Pd Single Atoms Into SnO2 for Efficient CO Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By applying hydrothermal regulation to SnO2‐supported PdO, we achieve atomic dispersion of Pd into the SnO2 lattice, which activates the lattice oxygen neighboring Pd atoms to generate oxygen vacancies and facilitates subsequent O2 activation, thereby promoting CO oxidation to proceed via a low‐energy‐barrier MvK pathway while avoiding CO poisoning ...

Exergy analysis of a Brayton cycle with variable physical properties and variable composition of working substance

open access: yes, 2016
The exergy analysis of a Brayton cycle is performed in the paper. The four input variables: the ratio of the compressor exit and inlet pressures, the ratio of inlet temperature of gases in turbine and inlet temperature of air in compressor and the ...

Dielectric‐Confinement‐Induced in‐Plane Photoelectric Anisotropy in Isotropic Quasi‐1D γ‐GaS Nanoribbon

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigate the geometry‐governed optoelectronic anisotropy arising from dielectric confinement in quasi‐1D γ‐GaS nanoribbons with intrinsically isotropic atomic structures. Dielectric mismatch between the nanoribbon and its surroundings leads to a general polarization‐dependent photoresponse during near‐field scattering.

Geometric Nonuniformity Localizes Valence Orbitals in Gold Clusters: Case Study on [Au23(SC6H11)16]–

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The electronic structure of [Au23(SC6H11)16]–, a monolayer‐protected gold cluster with a nonuniform Au13 core, was investigated. Anion photoelectron spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations revealed that the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and HOMO‐1 are localized on the two triangular Au3 units at the ends of the Au13 core ...

Effects on NOx and SO2 Emissions during Co-Firing of Coal With Woody Biomass in Air Staging and Reburning

open access: yesInternational Journal of Renewable Energy Development, 2018
Co-firing coal with different types of biomass is increasingly being applied in thermal power plants in Europe. The main motive for the use of biomass as the second fuel in coal-fired power plants is the reduction of CO2 emissions, and related financial ...

Porous Organic Cages for CO2 Capture and Confined Reduction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Porous organic cages (POCs) enable the coupling of CO2 capture and conversion through the interplay of molecular structure and solid‐state organization. Beyond intrinsic cavities, packing‐dependent pore accessibility and mass transport govern local CO2 concentration and catalytic performance, linking adsorption to reactivity in integrated capture ...
