Semigroup Well-posedness of A Linearized, Compressible Fluid with An Elastic Boundary

open access: yes, 2017
We address semigroup well-posedness of the fluid-structure interaction of a linearized compressible, viscous fluid and an elastic plate (in the absence of rotational inertia).

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Dynamic Fluid Structure Interaction of NACRA 17 Foil

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The NACRA 17 is a small foiling catamaran that is lifted out of the water by two asymmetric z-foils and two rudder elevators. This paper investigates how foil deflection affects not only foil performance but overall boat behaviour using a numerical Fluid

Numerical analysis of the fluid-structure interaction in a membrane pump [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this research, the fluid-structure interaction in a recently developed membrane pump is analysed. The governing equations for the laminar flow and for the deformation of the membrane are solved with two separate codes, which are coupled with the quasi-

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Fluid-structure interaction modeling with chimera grids in NSMB*

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys, 2014
The paper presents the last few years of research at ICUBE, Team MECAFLU in the “Instabilité, Turbulence, Diphasique”group on the simulations of fluid-structure interactions applied to falling bodies using the NSMB solver.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Research on fluid-structure interaction vibration and bandgap properties of periodic composite hydraulic pipes

open access: yesApplied Ocean Research
This research incorporates the Bragg scattering mechanism in phononic crystal theory into fluid-structure interaction vibration suppression of hydraulic pipes.
