Coupled fluid–solid interaction under shock wave loading

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2010
AbstractThis paper considers the treatment of fluid–solid interaction problems under shock wave loading, where the solid experiences large bulk Lagrangian displacements. This work addresses the issues associated with using a level set as a generalized interface for fluid–solid coupling where the fluid–solid interface is embedded in an unstructured ...

Theoretical model for fluid-solid coupling in porous materials

Physical Review E, 2015
This paper introduces a unifying theory for describing complex behavior for porous materials. The key ingredients are the stored energy in solid-fluid interaction as well as the solid-solid and fluid-fluid interactions. A finite element formulation is employed which naturally accounts for the pore-pore network effects and is easily applicable to most ...

Fluid-Solid Coupling Analysis on Aquatics Hub Cutter

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
Hub cutter is a new kind of plant cutters with a good capability of anti-blocking and stability of operating performance. Hub cutter was simulated by using Coupled FEA/CFD analysis in order to get the hydrodynamic pressure value , static pressure and natural frequency. The results show that the change of hydrodynamic pressure on the hub cutter is large.

Realistic simulation of multi-scale fluid-solid coupling

2008 9th International Conference on Computer-Aided Industrial Design and Conceptual Design, 2008
In this paper, we present a novel method for simulating middle- and small-scale details of incompressible viscous fluids and solid coupling. To animate the fluid model, we use the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method, which models the flow as a particle system in middle-scale, and based on it, we focus on the interaction between water and solid

Fluid-Solid Coupling Analysis of Granular Materials

2020
The coupling between granular materials and fluid widely exist in nature and human activities, such as sediment in the river course, seepage of liquid water in sand and gravel soil, and interactive movement in the gas-solid two-phase flow in chemical equipment.

One Method of Fluid-Solid Coupled Interaction Simulation

Advanced Materials Research, 2008
In this article we presented a method of Fluid-Solid coupled simulation via FLUNET and ABAQUS in problems such as Aero/Hydro-Elasticity problems. UDF (user define function) script file in the Fluent software was utilized as the ‘Connecting File’ between FLUENT and ABAQUS for Aero-Elastic computations.

Partitioned Fluid–Solid Coupling for Cardiovascular Blood Flow

Annals of Biomedical Engineering, 2010
We present a 3D code-coupling approach which has been specialized towards cardiovascular blood flow. For the first time, the prescribed geometry movement of the cardiovascular flow model KaHMo (Karlsruhe Heart Model) has been replaced by a myocardial composite model.

Research on Propeller Modeling and Fluid-Solid Coupling Analysis

Marine Technology Society Journal, 2021
Abstract Taking the AU5-50 propeller as an example, the detailed process of propeller modeling with atlas method and PropCad is compared. By comparing the auxiliary profiles used for modeling, it is pointed out that the blade model established by PropCad has more complete features and is not restricted by the propeller type.
