Nonlinear analysis of orthotropic membrane and shell structures including fluid-structure interaction [PDF]
In this work, membrane and shell structures with large deformations are studied. In the structural part of this work, a new methodology for the analysis of geometrically nonlinear orthotropic membrane and rotation-free shell elements is developed based ...

Fluid-structure analysis of an atherosclerotic coronary artery [PDF]
A theoretical fluid-structure interaction (FSI) model for the stress field of atherosclerotic coronary arteries are obtained and the influence of various characteristics on the stress distribution in diseased coronary arteries is highlighted.

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

A particle model for fluid–structure interaction
We propose a particle method to handle fluid–structure interactions on a 1D model problem. Interactions between fluid and solid particles implicitly enforce the continuity of stresses on the interface. Comparisons with results obtained by ALE methods allow one to evaluate the robustness and accuracy of the method.

A theoretical solution of a water- spherical shell-damping layer interaction system for underwater noise reductions [PDF]
Based on a fluid-structure interaction analysis (FSIA), the theoretical solution is developed for an integrated spherical shell-damping layer-water interaction system subjected to an internal sinusoidal pressure excitation. The effect of damping layer on

Fluid-structure interaction of submerged floating tunnel in wave field [PDF]
The aspect ratio of submerged floating tunnel (SFT), i.e. the ratio of length to diameter, is usually as large as 102 to 103, which means the behavior of SFT would like a slender cylinder restrained by tethers.

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.
