Solution generating theorems for perfect fluid spheres [PDF]
The first static spherically symmetric perfect fluid solution with constant density was found by Schwarzschild in 1918. Generically, perfect fluid spheres are interesting because they are first approximations to any attempt at building a realistic model ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Diuretic responses to Ringer's solution and 20% albumin at different arterial pressures
Intravenous volume loading is a common treatment when hypovolemia is a potential cause of oliguria. We studied whether the effectiveness of Ringer's solution and 20% albumin in inducing diuresis differs depending on the mean arterial pressure (MAP).

Clinical evaluation of a newly designed fluid warming kit on fluid warming and hypothermia during spinal surgery [PDF]
BackgroundThe Mega Acer Kit® (MAK) is a newly designed heated and humidified breathing circuit that warms fluid passing through the circuit lumen. In this study, we investigated the system's efficacy for the perioperative prevention of hypothermia and ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Curved film cooling admission tube [PDF]
Effective film cooling to protect a wall surface from a hot fluid which impinges on or flows along the surface is provided. A film of cooling fluid having increased area is provided by changing the direction of a stream of cooling fluid through an angle ...

A Nitsche-based cut finite element method for a fluid--structure interaction problem
We present a new composite mesh finite element method for fluid--structure interaction problems. The method is based on surrounding the structure by a boundary-fitted fluid mesh which is embedded into a fixed background fluid mesh.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

SIMPLE FLUID IN AN ATTRACTIVE, DISORDERED POLYDISPERSE MATRIX
The extension of the replica Ornstein-Zernike (ROZ) equations is applied to the study of the structural properties of a Lennard-Jones fluid confined in an attractive polydisperse disordered matrix.

In this paper, we derive the equations of motion for an elastic body interacting with a perfect fluid via the framework of Lagrange-Poincare reduction.
