SHOCK WAVE INDUCED FLOW SEPARATION CONTROL BY AIR-JET AND ROD VORTEX GENERATORS

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2015
Flow separation control by Vortex Generators (VGs) has been analyzed over the last decades. The majority of the research concerning this technology has been focused on subsonic flows where its effectiveness for separation reduction has been proven. Less

Prognostic Impact of Treatment Modalities, Including Targeted Compartmental Radio‐Immunotherapy, in a Cohort of Neuroblastoma Patients With CNS Metastases at Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.

Hydrogen fuel production from CO2/CH4 mixture using a novel type of an atmospheric pressure microwave (2.45 GHz) plasma source

open access: yesScientific Reports
We report the use of microwave plasma for the production of hydrogen-enriched gas by converting a mixture of CO₂ and CH₄. A novel type of compact and simple in design, waveguide-based, atmospheric pressure plasma source is used.

Clinical Characteristics and Prognostic Risk Factors for Pediatric B‐Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma: A Multicenter Retrospective Cohort Study for China Net Childhood Lymphoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background B‐cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (B‐LBL) represents a rare variety of non‐Hodgkin lymphoma, with limited research on its biology, progression, and management. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical characteristics of 256 patients aged ≤18 years who received treatment under the China Net Childhood Lymphoma (CNCL)‐

Natural vibration frequencies of delaminated composite beams

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2023
In the presented work a model of a layered, delaminated composite beam based on the finite elements method was introduced. In this model the beam was divided into finite elements, while the delamination was modelled using additional boundary conditions.

Exercise Interventions in Children, Adolescents and Young Adults With Paediatric Bone Tumours—A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bone tumours present significant challenges for affected patients, as multimodal therapy often leads to prolonged physical limitations. This is particularly critical during childhood and adolescence, as it can negatively impact physiological development and psychosocial resilience.

Atmospheric pressure microwave (915 MHz) plasma for hydrogen production from steam reforming of ethanol

open access: yesScientific Reports
This work presents experimental results on the energy efficiency in hydrogen production using atmospheric microwave plasma (915 MHz) through steam reforming of ethanol. Ethanol was chosen as a liquid hydrogen carrier due to its high hydrogen atom content,

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

Length Scale of Free Stream Turbulence and Its Impact on Bypass Transition in a Boundary Layer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2017
An experimental investigation was carried out to study the turbulent flow over a flat plate in a subsonic wind tunnel. The enhanced level of turbulence was generated by five wicker grids with square meshes, and different parameters (diameter of the grid ...
