Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer in Air Jet Impingement in Food Processing

Journal of Food Science, 2004
Air impingement technology is ganing popularity in food-processing operations such as baking, freezing drying, and toasting. In this article, physical characteristics of impinging jets. such as turbdent mixing in the free jet region, stagnation, boundary-layer formation, reclculation and their interactions with food products in terms of heat and mass ...

Fluid flow and heat transfer in continuous casting processes

2010
A three-dimensional finite difference code was developed to simulate fluid flow and heat transfer phenomena in continuous casting processes. The mathematical model describes steady state transport phenomena in a three dimensional solution domain that involves: turbulent fluid flow, natural and forced convection, conduction, release of latent heat at ...

Coupled Process Models of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer in Hydrothermal Systems in Three Dimensions

Surveys in Geophysics, 2009
Geothermal fields and hydrothermal mineral deposits are manifestations of the interaction between heat transfer and fluid flow in the Earth’s crust. Understanding the factors that drive fluid flow is essential for managing geothermal energy production and for understanding the genesis of hydrothermal mineral systems.

Review of mathematical models of fluid flow, heat transfer, and mass transfer in electroslag remelting process

Ironmaking & Steelmaking, 1999
AbstractThe electroslag remelting (ESR) process has been used effectively to produce large ingots of high quality based on the controlled solidification and chemical refining that can be achieved. Despite the widespread application of industrial facilities, there are still issues that prevent an effective control of the process.

Numerical Simulation of Initial Development of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer in Planar Flow Casting Process

Metallurgical and Materials Transactions B, 2009
This article describes the initial development of fluid flow and heat transfer in a planar flow casting (PFC) process for amorphous ribbon formation using a two-dimensional (2-D) model of fluid flow with free surface and surface tension, and heat transfer with phase transformation.

Numerical analysis of the heat transfer and fluid flow in the butt-fusion welding process

Korea-Australia Rheology Journal, 2017
Butt-fusion welding is an effective process for welding polymeric pipes. The process can be simplified into two stages. In heat soak stage, the pipe is heated using a hot plate contacted with one end of the pipe. In jointing stage, a pair of heated pipes is compressed against one another so that the melt regions become welded.
