Reconstruction of paleo-temperature and pressure of oil reservoirs based on PVTx simulation: problems, strategies and case studies

open access: yesShiyou shiyan dizhi, 2021
The PVTx simulation of fluid inclusions is a valuable method for the reconstruction of paleo-temperature and pressure of oil reservoir. Since the accurate composition of oil-bearing inclusion is very difficult to be obtained and the composition may be ...

Rectified Rotational Dynamics of Mobile Inclusions in Two-Dimensional Active Nematics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
We investigate the dynamics of mobile inclusions embedded in 2D active nematics. The interplay between the inclusion shape, the boundary-induced nematic order, and the autonomous flow powers the inclusion motion. Disks and achiral gears exhibit unbiased rotational motion, but with distinct dynamics.

Quantification of major and trace elements in fluid inclusions and gas bubbles by laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) with no internal standard: a new method [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Mineralogy, 2021
Recent advances in laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) open new perspectives for quantification of trace metals and metalloids in mineral-hosted fluid inclusions and glass-hosted gas bubbles.

Fluid inclusions in rocks of the Archean high-grade Varpaisjärvi-Lapinlahti area, central Finland [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 1992
Fluid inclusions both in matrix quartz of metamorphic rocks and in quartz veins from five samples from the Archean high-grade Varpaisjärvi-Lapinlahti area were examined with microthermometric methods. Two types of fluid inclusions were observed: CO2-rich

Active osmotic-like pressure on permeable inclusions [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. E 109, 034607 (2024), 2022
We use a standard minimal active Brownian model to investigate the osmotic-like effective pressure generated by active fluids on fixed hollow inclusions. These inclusions are enclosed by a permeable (albeit nonflexible) membrane, and the interior and exterior regions of the inclusions have different particle motility strengths.

Fluid inclusion petrography

open access: yesLithos, 2001
Abstract A procedure of fluid inclusion studies is proposed with emphasis on the criteria of selecting fluid inclusions for detailed (microthermometry and spectroscopic) analysis. An overview of descriptive and genetic classifications of fluid inclusions in single crystals and in massive rocks is given with the intention of further differentiating ...
