Mathematical model of controllers for progressive cavity pumps

open access: yesRevista UIS Ingenierías, 2019
Progressive Cavity Pumps (PCP) is an artificial fluid lift method widely used in oil wells of Colombia, Canada and Venezuela, where the pump is driven by a rod connected to the motor located at the surface.

Tough, Ductile, and Strong Hard‐Soft Cementitious Composite Enabled by Multi‐Material Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Fluid Ferroelectric Filaments

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Freestanding slender fluid filaments of room‐temperature ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals are described. They are stabilized either by internal electric fields of bound charges formed due to polarization splay or by external voltage applied between ...

L’évolution du « modèle » de Brasilia : vers une métropole banale ?

open access: yesCahiers des Amériques Latines, 2002
The "window" which should have been Brasilia is menaced, notably by the explosive urban expansion which the town is experiencing. This questions the model desired by its conceivers who wanted to create a “green” town, but also something logic and fluid ...

Soft Hardware, Flowing Software: Reconfigurable Microfluidics for Adaptable Chemical Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable microfluidic platform based on soft, photo‐printable, and chemically erasable hydrogel structures printed and erased in situ is used to control flow routing, mixing, chemical patterning, and even chemical computing. Using hardware to control chemical computations decouples logic function from molecular composition, demonstrated via ...
