Fluid queues driven by a discouraged arrivals queue

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2003
We consider a fluid queue driven by a discouraged arrivals queue and obtain explicit expressions for the stationary distribution function of the buffer content in terms of confluent hypergeometric functions. We compare it with a fluid queue driven by an infinite server queue.

Stationary Analysis Fluid Model Driven by an Queue [PDF]

open access: yesMaǧallaẗ Al-Buḥūṯ Al-Tiǧāriyyaẗ, 2023
A Fluid queue is a mathematical model used to describe fluid level in a reservoir subject to randomly determined periods of filling and emptying the system without interruption called a buffer, according to a randomly varying rate regulated by an ...

The Stability Analysis of a Double-X Queuing Network Occurring in the Banking Sector

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
We model a common teller–customer interaction occurring in the Ghanaian banking sector via a Double-X queuing network consisting of three single servers with infinite-capacity buffers.

Fluid-Flow Approximation in the Analysis of Vast Energy-Aware Networks

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
The paper addresses two issues: (i) modeling dynamic flows transmitted in vast TCP/IP networks and (ii) modeling the impact of energy-saving algorithms.

FLUID QUEUES AND MOUNTAIN PROCESSES [PDF]

open access: yesProbability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, 1999
This paper is devoted to the analysis of a fluid queue with a buffer content that varies linearly during periods that are governed by a three-state semi-Markov process. Two cases are being distinguished: (i) two upward slopes and one downward slope, and (ii) one upward slope and two downward slopes.

Distributional Properties of Fluid Queues Busy Period and First Passage Times

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
In this paper, I analyze the distributional properties of the busy period in an on-off fluid queue and the first passage time in a fluid queue driven by a finite state Markov process.

A Lévy-Driven Stochastic Queueing System with Server Breakdowns and Vacations

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
Motivated by modelling the data transmission in computer communication networks, we study a Lévy-driven stochastic fluid queueing system where the server may subject to breakdowns and repairs.

Modeling Aircraft Departure at a Runway Using a Time-Varying Fluid Queue

open access: yesAerospace, 2022
Reducing the length of departure queues at runway entry points is one of the most important requirements for reducing aircraft traffic congestion and fuel consumption at airports.

Adaptive Hurst-Sensitive Active Queue Management

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
An Active Queue Management (AQM) mechanism, recommended by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), increases the efficiency of network transmission. An example of this type of algorithm can be the Random Early Detection (RED) algorithm.
