Numerical Study of Nanoparticle Deposition in a Gaseous Microchannel under the Influence of Various Forces

open access: yesMicromachines, 2021
Nanoparticle deposition in microchannel devices inducing contaminant clogging is a serious barrier to the application of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS).

Evaluation of the unsteady flamelet progress variable approach in Large Eddy Simulations of the ECN Spray A

open access: yesScience and Technology for Energy Transition, 2022
Within the Unsteady Flamelet Progress Variable – Large Eddy Simulation (UFPV-LES) approach the local scalar dissipation rate represents one key parameter, significantly affecting the ignition behaviour.

Simulating Complex Fluids [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Simulation, 1995
Abstract In this Article, a review is given on the progress of simulating complex fluids. Two approaches are used to deal with the special requirements of simulations of complex fluids. Molecular dynamics on massively parallel computers allow long simulations on very large systems.

Application of dense neural networks for manifold-based modeling of flame-wall interactions

open access: yesApplications in Energy and Combustion Science, 2023
Artifical neural networks (ANNs) are universal approximators capable of learning any correlation between arbitrary input data with corresponding outputs, which can also be exploited to represent a low-dimensional chemistry manifold in the field of ...

Dynamic behavior of the cavitation bubbles collapsing between a rigid wall and an elastic wall

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
There are various bubble cavitation phenomena in daily production and life, and near-wall cavitation is the most common one. This paper studies the bubble cavitation dynamics between a rigid wall and an elastic wall, and by changing the distance between ...

Numerical Investigation on the Effect of the Oxymethylene Ether-3 (OME3) Blending Ratio in Premixed Sooting Ethylene Flames

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering, 2021
Synthetic fuels, especially oxygenated fuels, which can be used as blending components, make it possible to modify the emission properties of conventional fossil fuels. Among oxygenated fuels, one promising candidate is oxymethylene ether-3 (OME3).

Effects of non-Darcy mixed convection over a horizontal cone with different convective boundary conditions incorporating gyrotactic microorganisms on dispersion

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
This paper investigates the influence of dispersion impact on mixed convection flow over a horizontal cone within a non-Darcy porous medium. Multiple convective boundary conditions are applied to address the heat, mass and motile microorganism transfer ...

Spiral-spectral fluid simulation [PDF]

open access: yesACM Transactions on Graphics, 2021
We introduce a fast, expressive method for simulating fluids over radial domains, including discs, spheres, cylinders, ellipses, spheroids, and tori. We do this by generalizing the spectral approach of Laplacian Eigenfunctions, resulting in what we call spiral-spectral fluid simulations.
