Fluid dynamics of dilatant fluids [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2012
Dense mixture of granules and liquid often shows a sever shear thickening and is called a dilatant fluid. We construct a fluid dynamics model for the dilatant fluid by introducing a phenomenological state variable for a local state of dispersed particles.

Analysis of ECN spray A ignition in a Rapid Compression Machine using simultaneous OH* chemiluminescence and formaldehyde PLIF

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2020
The canonical diesel spray A is characterized in an optical Rapid Compression Machine (RCM) at high temperature and density conditions (900 K and 850 K, ρ = 23 kg/m3) using simultaneous high-speed OH* chemiluminescence and two-pulse 355 nm Planar Laser ...

Characterization of the ECN spray A in different facilities. Part 1: boundary conditions characterization

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2020
The Engine Combustion Network (ECN) community has greatly contributed to improve the fundamental understanding of spray atomization and combustion at conditions relevant to internal combustion engines. In this context, standardized spray experiments have

The thermoelectric working fluid: thermodynamics and transport [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Thermoelectric devices are heat engines, which operate as generators or refrigerators using the conduction electrons as a working fluid. The thermoelectric heat-to-work conversion efficiency has always been typically quite low, but much effort continues ...

L’hypotypose ou l’image onirique de la mer dans Écailles Alexandrines de Mona Latif-Ghattas

open access: yesActa Universitatis Lodziensis: Folia Litteraria Romanica, 2016

Scaling laws of turbulent dynamos [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We consider magnetic fields generated by homogeneous isotropic and parity invariant turbulent flows. We show that simple scaling laws for dynamo threshold, magnetic energy and Ohmic dissipation can be obtained depending on the value of the magnetic ...

Analysis on mechanism of material removal rate and surface flow machining process [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
A novel finishing technique called abrasive flow machining (AFM) uses abrasive particles as the instrument for material removal. The term "self-deformable stone" refers to the abrasive particle-containing carrier medium, and AFM is commonly known as "no ...

Normal Stresses and Interface Displacement: Influence of Viscoelasticity on Enhanced Oil Recovery Efficiency Contraintes normales et déplacement d’interface : influence de la viscoélasticité sur l’efficacité de la récupération assistée

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2013
One of chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) methods consists in injecting aqueous solutions of polymers into the reservoir in order to improve mobility ratio between the injected fluid and the remaining oil.

Small Volume Fraction Limit of the Diblock Copolymer Problem: II. Diffuse-Interface Functional [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present the second of two articles on the small volume fraction limit of a nonlocal Cahn-Hilliard functional introduced to model microphase separation of diblock copolymers.
