Minimum and Full Fluidization Velocity for Alumina Used in the Aluminum Smelter

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering Business Management, 2011
Fluidization is an engineering unit operation that occurs when a fluid (liquid or gas) ascends through a bed of particles, and these particles get a velocity of minimum fluidization V mf enough to stay in suspension, but without carrying them in the ...

Simulation of Very Low Frequency Pulsed Fluidized Bed [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
Achieving high fluidization quality and bed stability is a paramount challenge in pulsed fluidized beds. 2D hydrodynamics models were studied using the Eulerian-Eulerian method with KTGF.

Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Nanopowder Fluidization Using the Combined Assisted Fluidization Techniques of Particle Mixing and Flow Pulsation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In the present study, we report the fluidization behavior of ultrafine nanopowder using the assisted fluidization technique of particle mixing, which was further superimposed with the pulsation of the inlet gas flow to the fluidized bed.

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

Numerical Investigation of the Influence of Temperature on Fluidization Behavior: Importance of Particle Collision Parameters and Inter-Particle Forces

open access: yesFluids
Fluidized bed reactors (FBRs) are integral to various industries due to their exceptional capability in facilitating efficient gas–solid interactions, resulting in superior mixing and heat and mass transfer.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

From continuum analytical description to discrete numerical modelling of localized fluidization in granular media

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
We present analytical and numerical results on localized fluidization within a granular layer subjected to a local injection of fluid. As the injection rate increases the three different regimes previously reported in the literature are recovered ...

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Fluidization Characteristics of a Centrifugal Fluidized Bed.

open access: yesKAGAKU KOGAKU RONBUNSHU, 1993
