Simulation of Experimental Background using FLUKA [PDF]
In November 1997, Experiment T423 began acquiring data with the intentions of understanding the energy spectra of high-energy neutrons generated in the interaction of electrons with lead. The following describes a series of FLUKA simulations studying (1) particle yields in the absence of all background; (2) the background caused from scattering in the ...

ABSTRACT Rationale In this study, we applied cross‐linking mass spectrometry (XL‐MS) to characterize the oligomeric states of a PGLa/magainin 2 mixture and gain insight into the heterodimerization previously suggested in the literature. Both peptides have shown a synergistic enhancement of activity when tested in antimicrobial assays; however, the ...

MSA‐regulated water‐in‐salt electrolyte enables dual‐ion (Zn2+/H+) storage and stabilizes Zn plating/stripping in PANI@N‐doped biomass‐derived carbon cathodes. The synergistic electrolyte–electrode engineering delivers high energy density and long‐term cycling stability for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries.

A synergistic effect among the electrocatalytic Ru/TiON‐GO nanocomposite, biorecognition elements, and the [Fe(CN)6]3−/4− redox probe for highly sensitive and selective impedimetric detection of PSA protein in human serum was demonstrated. The immunosensor exhibited a limit of detection of only 0.06 ng mL−1 PSA protein, underscoring the importance and ...

Programmable 3D Microfluidics Reveals Motility‐Driven Antibiotic Resistance Evolution in Gradients
Using a programmable microfluidic platform, this study shows that bacterial motility is crucial for resistance development in heterogeneous antibiotic landscapes. Motile Escherichia coli randomly migrates along antibiotic gradients, and sufficient movement is required for resistance to emerge.
