Development and validation of an improved oxygen radical absorbance capacity assay using fluorescein as the fluorescent probe.

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2001
An improved method of oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) assay has been developed and validated using fluorescein (3',6'-dihydroxyspiro[isobenzofuran-1[3H],9'[9H]-xanthen]-3-one) as the fluorescent probe.

FLUORESCEIN ANGIOGRAPHY OF RETINOBLASTOMA

Retina, 1982
This study was undertaken to determine the fluorescein angiographic characteristics of retinoblastomas, to determine the effect of various methods of treatment of these fluorescein patterns, and to determine whether fluorescein angiography can be of value in determining the response to treatment.

Labeling of Oligonucleotides with Fluorescein

Molecular Biotechnology, 1997
The labeling of oligonucleotide probes using a fluorescein-labeled nucleotide is described. The reaction is characterized by careful control of the nucleotide and probe molar ratio in order to produce a tail that gives good detection sensitivity without compromising hybridization stringency control of the probe sequence.

Fluorescein as a Visible-Light-Induced Oxidase Mimic for Signal-Amplified Colorimetric Assay of Carboxylesterase by an Enzymatic Cascade Reaction.

Chemistry, 2018
We have found that fluorescein possesses high visible-light-induced oxidase mimetic activity and could transform colorless 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) into blue oxidized TMB (oxTMB) without unstable and destructive H2 O2 under visible-light ...

Fluorescein and fluorescein glucuronide in the vitreous body of diabetic patients

Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 1987
Fluorescein (F) and fluorescein glucuronide (FG) were determined in the vitreous of four diabetic patients by a double-filter slit-lamp fluorophotometric technique. Determinations were performed 60-80 min after i.v. injection of fluorescein. F and FG were also determined in plasma ultrafiltrate 5, 15, 30, 60 and 120 min after injection by high-pressure

The utilization of fluorescein in brain tumor surgery: a systematic review.

Journal of Neurosurgical Sciences, 2018
INTRODUCTION Sodium fluorescein (SF) is a green, water-soluble dye with the capacity to accumulate in cerebral areas as a result of damaged blood-brain barrier (BBB); this property allows SF to concentrate specifically at the tumor site of various types ...

The Photography of Fluorescein

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1982
The last few years have seen a number of new flaps described and a renewed interest in the use of fluorescein, but there have been few photographs of the fluorescein effect, because special light sources were required with the filters that were employed.

Fluorescein Angiography

2018
Fluorescein angiography (FA) is an imaging modality used to study the circulation of the retina and choroid. About 5 mL of 10% sterile aqueous solution of fluorescein dye (or 2-3 mL of a 25% solution) is injected in the antecubital vein. The fluorescein molecules excited by a blue light (465-490 nm) emit green-yellow light (520-530 nm) (Fig. 2.1).

Fluorescein by XPS

Surface Science Spectra, 1992
X-ray photoemission spectra of the core and valence levels for fluorescein are presented. The data were collected on a Perkin-Elmer/Physical Electronics model #5400 photoelectron spectrometer using unmonochromatized Mg x rays. The material, in powder form, was analyzed in the as received condition. Fluorescein is an important prototype organic dye with

Two fluorescein-based chemosensors for the fast detection of 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP) in water.

Chemical Communications, 2017
Two fluorescein-based chemosensors have been developed. They exhibited rapid and selective detection of 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP) via fluorescence quenching both in ethanol and water solution when excited by visible light.
