Quenching of the fluorescence of NO2 [PDF]

open access: greenJournal of Photochemistry, 1972
The fluorescence yield of NO2 was monitored at 25 C with incident wavelengths of 4047, 4358, and 4800A at fluorescence wavelengths of 4860, 5577, and 6300A. The NO2 pressure was varied between 0.004 and 0.080 torr. Measurements were taken both in the absence of foreign gases and in the presence of up to 30 torr. He, N2, and O2 at each NO2 pressure.

Fluorescence Quenching in Model Membranes [PDF]

open access: bronzeBiophysical Journal, 1982
Fluorescence quenching of membrane-bound fluorophors by nitroxide spin-labeled phospholipids has proved to be a useful technique for examining lipid-fluorophor contact (1-3). When the fluorophor is the tryptophanyl residue of a polypeptide, this method can yield relative binding constants of phospholipids to a membrane-bound polypeptide.

Determination of epristeride by its quenching effect on the fluorescence of L-tryptophan

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Analysis, 2013
A rapid, novel spectrofluorimetric method to determine epristeride (EP) in biological fluids and a pharmaceutical formulation was developed, based on the fact that fluorescence intensity of l-tryptophan could be quenched by EP in the medium of pH=9.0 ...

Promoting near‐infrared II fluorescence efficiency by blocking long‐range energy migration

open access: yesAggregate, 2023
Generally, long wavelength absorbed near‐infrared II (NIR‐II) dyes have a low fluorescence efficiency in aggregate states for aggregate‐caused quenching effect, simultaneously enhancing efficiency and extending absorption is a challenging issue for NIR ...

Thioamides as Fluorescence-Quenching Probes [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2013
Fluorescence-quenching probes can be used to study the dynamics, folding, and aggregation of appropriately labeled protein systems. Valuable structural information can be extracted from distance-dependent quenching experiments; however, the structural resolution is often limited by the large size of the chromophore labels typically required for this ...

Fluorescence of Alexa fluor dye tracks protein folding. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Fluorescence spectroscopy is an important tool for the characterization of protein folding. Often, a protein is labeled with appropriate fluorescent donor and acceptor probes and folding-induced changes in Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) are ...
