Microencapsulation of Lead-Halide Perovskites in an Oil-in-Fluorine Emulsion for Cell Imaging
The superior optical properties of lead-halide perovskites (LHPs) inspired significant research in cell imaging applications; many encapsulating processes have improved perovskite stabilities with comparable biosafety.

Effects of the Oxyethylene Chain Length of Fluorocarbon Surfactants on Demixing of Micelles of Fluorocarbon and Hydrocarbon Surfactants [PDF]
Abstract The critical mole fraction of hydrocarbon surfactant decreases with an increase in the oxyethylene unit of either fluorocarbon surfactant or hydrocarbon surfactant. This tendency is explicable in terms of regular solution theory if the depth of water penetration into the micellar interior is assumed to increase with an increase ...

Droplet-based digital antibiotic susceptibility screen reveals single-cell clonal heteroresistance in an isogenic bacterial population [PDF]
Since antibiotic resistance is a major threat to global health, recent observations that the traditional test of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) is not informative enough to guide effective antibiotic treatment are alarming.

Reductive defluorination of aqueous perfluorinated alkyl surfactants : effects of ionic headgroup and chain length [PDF]
Perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) are distributed throughout the environment. In the case of perfluorinated alkyl carboxylates and sulfonates, they can be classified as persistent organic pollutants since they are resistant to environmentally relevant ...

Decontamination by cleaning with fluorocarbon surfactant solutions [PDF]
In the nuclear industry, facilities and their components inevitably become contaminated with radioactive materials. This report documents the application of a novel particle-removal process developed by Entropic Systems, Inc. (ESI), to decontaminate critical instruments and parts that are contaminated with small radioactive particles that adhere to ...

Synthesis and properties of novel betaine fluorocarbon surfactants
In this study, a series of new betaine fluorocarbon surfactants (abbreviated as FSC-m) were synthesized with N,N-dimethyl-1,3-propane diamine, perfluoroalkyl sulfonyl fluoride, and sodium chloroacetate. The novel surfactants were characterized by FI-IR, 1H-NMR and 19F-NMR.
