Clinical outcomes following stereotactic MRI‐guided laser ablation in children with tuberous sclerosis complex and intractable epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective In children with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) and drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE), magnetic resonance imaging–guided stereotactic laser ablation (SLA) therapy offers less‐invasive treatment compared to craniotomy and resection. Our study seeks to further expand on the long‐term outcomes in patients with TSC‐related DRE who have ...

Maximum standardized uptake value-to-tumor size ratio in fluorodeoxyglucose F18 positron emission tomography/computed tomography: a simple prognostic parameter for non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yesDiagnostic and Interventional Radiology
PURPOSE: By correcting the effect of tumor size on metabolic activity, the maximum standardized uptake value-to-tumor size (SUVmax:tumor size) ratio on fluorodeoxyglucose F18 positron emission tomography (18F-FDG PET)/computed tomography (CT) scans can ...

Who can safely discontinue lifelong follow‐up among patients with sporadic pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma?

open access: yesJournal of Internal Medicine, EarlyView.
Background Current guidelines recommend at least 10 years of follow‐up for all pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) patients and lifelong monitoring for high‐risk individuals. Nonetheless, data identifying patients who may not require routine lifelong follow‐up are scarce.

18F-fluorodeoxyglucose uptake in tumor.

open access: yesMymensingh medical journal : MMJ, 2011
The 18fluorine-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG), a glucose analog, has been widely used in tumor imaging. The tumoral uptake of 18F-FDG is based upon enhanced glycolysis. Following administration, 18F-FDG is phosphorylated and trapped intracellularly that forms the basis of PET imaging.

Preoperative Staging in Oral Cavity Cancer: Nationwide Practice and Concordance With Pathology

open access: yesOral Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives The clarity of TNM‐classification for oral cancer has a direct impact on healthcare resource allocation, treatment decisions, morbidity, and clinical outcomes. However, possible TNM ambiguity between hospitals exists due to the broad range of available diagnostics.

A Case of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor Growing Intraductal Extension toward the Main Pancreatic Duct Complicated by Thrombocytopenia: Diagnostic Challenges and Management Strategy

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT We present a rare and diagnostically challenging case of a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (pNET) with intraductal growth into the main pancreatic duct (MPD), complicated by severe thrombocytopenia due to myelodysplastic syndrome. A 37‐year‐old male presented with thrombocytopenia.
