Similarities and differences in the intestinal actions of metformin and imeglimin

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 27, Issue 11, Page 6654-6667, November 2025.
Abstract Aims Imeglimin is a novel antidiabetic drug that shares structural similarity with metformin. While the intestinal effects of metformin have attracted widespread attention, those of imeglimin remain underexplored. Materials and methods C57BL/6J mice were treated with metformin or imeglimin for RNA sequencing of intestinal tissue.

TSPO Expression and [18F]DPA‐714 PET/CT Imaging as Pathogenetic and Diagnostic Biomarkers in Symptomatic Stages of Skeletal Muscle Fiber Degeneration in SOD1‐G93A ALS Mice

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 20, 31 October 2025.
In the first step, PET imaging with the TSPO radioligand was performed in SOD1‐G93A mice at two disease stages: mild and moderate/severe. Subsequent analyses were conducted using immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy to confirm TSPO expression in the triceps muscles of SOD1‐G93A mice.

Disrupted Coupling Between Cerebral Glucose Metabolism and Intrinsic Functional Connectivity: A Hybrid PET/fMRI Study on Frontotemporal Dementia

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 46, Issue 15, October 15, 2025.
Using hybrid PET/MRI, we demonstrated disrupted coupling between glucose metabolism and functional communication in FTD, alongside impaired network‐level interactions. Functional‐metabolic decoupling in key salience (SN) and default mode network (DMN) hubs highlights the vulnerability of hub regions to neurodegeneration and its impact on large‐scale ...
