This systematic review and meta-analysis was performed to assess the staging/restaging performance of F18-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in breast cancer.A comprehensive search was performed in PubMed databases for studies reporting the staging performance of F18-FDG PET/MRI in breast cancer

Clinical significance of thyroid uptake on F18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography
Annals of Nuclear Medicine, 2009Significant uptake of the thyroid is often identified as an incidental finding on whole-body F18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) for non-thyroid disease. Sometimes, it is a dilemma for radiologists to interpret clinical significance of thyroid uptake and give adequate recommendation for further evaluation.

Regional myocardial utilization of glucose can be assessed non-invasively in man with the sugar analogue F18-2-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose (FDG) and positron emission tomography (PET). The preliminary observations made in patients with different clinical forms of ischaemic heart disease using FDG and PET are reported.

Planar reset myocardial thallium-201 chloride (201Tl)/F18-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) imaging has been shown to distinguish between viable and non-viable tissue. Twenty-five patients (60 +/- 9 years) with acute myocardial infarction were studied using this technique within 6 +/- 2 days (T1) after infarction and again after 42 +/- 4 days (T6).

[Fluorodeoxyglucose F18(FDG)-probe guided biopsy].
Nederlands tijdschrift voor geneeskunde, 2010Although positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) has improved the diagnosis of malignant and inflammatory abnormalities, histopathological examination is often required to supplement imaging examination in order to make a definite diagnosis.
