Direct fluoroscopy has now become obsolete. In its place one should use an image tube in which the output phosphor is viewed by a high-grade optical system (intensifier fluoroscopy) or preferably by a television camera (video fluoroscopy). In video fluoroscopy it is possible to make a tape recording of the television signal without increasing the ...

Cardiology Clinics, 1983
The two basic radiologic approaches to heart disease are roentgenography and fluoroscopy. The purpose of this article is to examine the usefulness and limitations of cardiac fluoroscopy in order to put it into proper perspective.

Region of interest fluoroscopy
Medical Physics, 1992In some medical imaging applications, it is necessary to visualize only the center of the field of view with optimal quality. For example, often in interventional radiographic procedures only the region directly adjacent to the catheter tip must be well seen.

Technical Considerations and Fluoroscopy in Percutaneous Fixation of the Pelvis and Acetabulum.
Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, 2019Surgical treatment of the pelvic ring and acetabulum continues to evolve. Improved imaging technology and means for closed reduction have meant that percutaneous techniques have gained popularity in the treatment of the pelvic ring and, more recently, in

Selecting an appropriate method when describing the motion of the knee in 3D space can be challenging as there is no universal or standard definition currently utilised in biomechanical studies. The Joint Coordinate System (JCS), first proposed by Grood and Suntay, is widely used by various authors to define the relative position between two rigid ...

For quite a long time the physicists have been pointing their thimbles at our fluoroscopes and making low, clucking noises of consternation and reproach. Our attention has been directed to the tube-table distance (too short), the added filtration (too little), and the shutters (far, far too eccentric). Disquieting leaks have come to light in the bilge,

Stereoscopic Televised Fluoroscopy
Radiology, 1962The possibilities of stereoscopic roentgenography were appreciated by the early roentgenologists. Two roentgenograms of a patient made with the x-ray tube displaced a few inches at right angles to the direction of the central beams were viewed in a stereoscopic illuminator. Each roentgenogram was presented to the respective eye.

ALARA in Pediatric Fluoroscopy
Journal of the American College of Radiology, 2007hildren are not small adults. First, heir disease states are different rom adults, which may necessitate ore imaging examinations. For xample, congenital heart and vasular defects in neonates and inants can require up to 10 cardiac atheterizations, as opposed to 1 inervention required for coronary arery disease in adults [1].

Background: Despite multiple techniques to improve syndesmotic reduction accuracy, syndesmotic malreduction in unstable ankle fractures remains prevalent. We performed a prospective, observational study to assess the ability of intraoperative multidimensional fluoroscopy to lead a surgeon to change the syndesmotic reduction obtained by conventional ...
