Proton decay in flux compactifications
We study proton decay in a six-dimensional orbifold GUT model with gauge group SO(10)×U(1) A . Magnetic U(1) A flux in the compact dimensions determines the multiplicity of quark-lepton generations, and it also breaks supersymmetry by giving universal ...

Exceptional flux compactifications [PDF]
AbstractWe consider type II (non-)geometric flux backgrounds in the absence of brane sources, and construct their explicit embedding into maximal gaugedD= 4 supergravity. This enables one to investigate the critical points, mass spectra and gauge groups of such backgrounds.

Lobotomy of flux compactifications [PDF]
We provide the dictionary between four-dimensional gauged supergravity and type II compactifications on $\mathbb{T}^6$ with metric and gauge fluxes in the absence of supersymmetry breaking sources, such as branes and orientifold planes. Secondly, we prove that there is a unique isotropic compactification allowing for critical points.

Universal axion backreaction in flux compactifications [PDF]
We study the backreaction effect of a large axion field excursion on the saxion partner residing in the same N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 multiplet. Such configurations are relevant in attempts to realize axion monodromy inflation in string compactifications.

Flux compactifications and naturalness [PDF]
Free massless scalars have a shift symmetry. This is usually broken by gauge and Yukawa interactions, such that quantum corrections induce a quadratically divergent mass term.

Lectures on nongeometric flux compactifications [PDF]
These notes present a pedagogical review of nongeometric flux compactifications. We begin by reviewing well-known geometric flux compactifications in Type II string theory, and argue that one must include nongeometric "fluxes" in order to have a superpotential which is invariant under T-duality.

Flavor mixings in flux compactifications [PDF]
A multiplicity of quark-lepton families can naturally arise as zero-modes in flux compactifications. The flavour structure of quark and lepton mass matrices is then determined by the wave function profiles of the zero-modes. We consider a supersymmetric $SO(10)\times U(1)$ model in six dimensions compactified on the orbifold $T^2/{\mathbb Z_2}$ with ...

Comments on heterotic flux compactifications [PDF]
In heterotic flux compactification with supersymmetry, three different connections with torsion appear naturally, all in the form $ +a H$. Supersymmetry condition carries $a=-1$, the Dirac operator has $a=-1/3$, and higher order term in the effective action involves $a=1$. With a view toward the gauge sector, we explore the geometry with such torsions.

Maximal supergravity from IIB flux compactifications [PDF]
Using a recently proposed group-theoretical approach, we explore novel gaugings of maximal supergravity in four dimensions with gauge group embeddings that can be generated by fluxes of IIB string theory. The corresponding potentials are positive without stationary points.
