Hierarchies from fluxes in string compactifications [PDF]
Physical Review D, 2002 Warped compactifications with significant warping provide one of the few known mechanisms for naturally generating large hierarchies of physical scales. We demonstrate that this mechanism is realizable in string theory, and give examples involving orientifold compactifications of IIB string theory and F-theory compactifications on Calabi-Yau four-folds.

Fluxes in exceptional field theory and threebrane sigma-models
Journal of High Energy Physics, 2019 Starting from a higher Courant bracket associated to exceptional generalized geometry, we provide a systematic derivation of all types of fluxes and their Bianchi identities for four-dimensional compactifications of M-theory.

Cosmological perturbations in flux compactifications [PDF]
Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, 2005 Kaluza-Klein compactifications with four-dimensional inflationary geometry combine the attractive idea of higher dimensional models with the attempt to incorporate four-dimensional early-time or late-time cosmology. We analyze the mass spectrum of cosmological perturbations around such compactifications, including the scalar, vector, and tensor sector.

We begin by reviewing well-known geometric flux compactifications in Type II string theory, and argue that one must include nongeometric "fluxes" in order to have a superpotential which is invariant under T-duality.
