Hypercharge flux in heterotic compactifications
We study heterotic Calabi-Yau models with hypercharge flux breaking, where the visible E8 gauge group is directly broken to the standard model group by a non-flat gauge bundle, rather than by a two-step process involving an intermediate grand unified theory and a Wilson line.

Type IIB flux compactifications with h 1,1 = 0
We revisit flux compactifications of type IIB string theory on ‘spaces’ dual to rigid Calabi-Yau manifolds. This rather unexplored part of the string landscapes harbors many interesting four-dimensional solutions, namely supersymmetric N $$ \mathcal{N} $$

On flux compactification and moduli stabilization [PDF]
We study the effect of adding charged matter fields to both D3 and D7 branes in type IIB string theory compactification with fluxes. Generically, charged matter fields induce additional terms to the Kahler form, the superpotential and the D-terms. These terms allow for minima with positive or zero cosmological constants, even in the absence of non ...

The tadpole conjecture at large complex-structure
The tadpole conjecture by Bena, Blåbäck, Graña and Lüst effectively states that for string-theory compactifications with a large number of complex-structure moduli, not all of these moduli can be stabilized by fluxes.

Fluxes in exceptional field theory and threebrane sigma-models
Starting from a higher Courant bracket associated to exceptional generalized geometry, we provide a systematic derivation of all types of fluxes and their Bianchi identities for four-dimensional compactifications of M-theory.

Cosmological perturbations in flux compactifications [PDF]
Kaluza-Klein compactifications with four-dimensional inflationary geometry combine the attractive idea of higher dimensional models with the attempt to incorporate four-dimensional early-time or late-time cosmology. We analyze the mass spectrum of cosmological perturbations around such compactifications, including the scalar, vector, and tensor sector.

Lectures on nongeometric flux compactifications [PDF]
These notes present a pedagogical review of nongeometric flux compactifications. We begin by reviewing well-known geometric flux compactifications in Type II string theory, and argue that one must include nongeometric "fluxes" in order to have a superpotential which is invariant under T-duality.
