CERC-HAND-D: A Tool for Supporting On-the-Fly Flood Mapping in Canada
2021 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium IGARSS, 2021A custom ArcPro tool, the CERC-HAND-D tool, was developed to create synthetic rating curves (SRCs) using accessible data in Canada. SRCs could support the integration of the Height Above Nearest Drainage (HAND) model into an On-The-Fly flood mapping application for a Canada-wide service.

The multi-dataflow composer tool: generation of on-the-fly reconfigurable platforms
Journal of Real-Time Image Processing, 2012Dataflow specifications are suitable to describe both signal processing applications and the relative specialized hardware architectures, fostering the hardware---software development gap closure. They can be exploited for the development of automatic tools aimed at the integration of multiple applications on the same coarse-grained computational ...

Objective Inter-facility transport of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) patients is usually by ground when within 300 miles of receiving facility. In suburban/rural environments, highway travel may not be possible and travel time may be disproportionately increased due to traffic conditions, type of roads traveled, weather, etc.

C.OPEN and ANNOTATOR: Tools for On-the-Fly Model Checking C Programs
2007This paper describes a set of verification components that open the way to perform on-the-fly software model checking with the Cadp toolbox, originally designed for verifying the functional correctness of Lotos specifications. Two new tools (named C. OPEN and ANNOTATOR) have been added to the toolbox.

Transposition of fly mariner elements into bacteria as a genetic tool for mutagenesis
Genetica, 2009Mariner eukaryotic elements transpose randomly and independently of any host factors, making them ideal tools for random mutagenesis in bacteria, including genetically intractable microorganisms. The transposable element Himar1, a member of the mariner family of transposons, originally isolated from the horn fly (Haematobia irritans), has thus been ...

Virtual Reality as a Support Tool for the Treatment of Flying Phobia: A Pilot Study
2017 19th Symposium on Virtual and Augmented Reality (SVR), 2017Fear of flying is a real problem that affects the world's population. Approximately 25% of adults experience a significant increase in their anxiety levels when required to take any type of air transport and 10% of them avoid the situation. The approach that has proven to be the most effective in the treatment of phobias is in vivo exposure.

An Innovative Tool for Simulation and Control of a Flying-Cutting Machine
2015In the manufacturing field it happens that products are processed by high-speed production lines. They pass through different machines in order to be processed, according to a pre-established order, resting on moving supports. Usually they do not stop during this process: rather, the machines are able to track and handle them while they are moving.

SP0138 The Fruit Fly, as A Tool To Study ER Stress
Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2016Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) stress is a cellular event found misregulated in numerous diseases including osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and inflammatory pathologies. ER stress is also involved in physiological events such as fibroblast differentiation after injuries. Numerous proteins transit through the ER in which they are folded and glycosylated.

Thinking tools 3: Flying saucers and open minds
Think, 2003Thinking Tools is a regular feature that introduces pointers on thinking clearly and rigorously. Here I tell a cautionary tale about flying saucers and take a brief look at the virtues of ‘open-mindedness’.
