The Asymmetrical Half-Bridge Flyback Converter: a Reexamination

2020 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2020
Isolated Zero-Voltage-Switching (ZVS) dc-dc converter topologies are attractive solutions in the continuous ride toward higher switching frequencies, allowing more compact power supplies. Among them, the Asymmetrical Half-Bridge Flyback Converter (AHBFC) represents an interesting solution, featuring a simple duty-cycle control at a constant switching ...

Sensorless BCM control for a bidirectional flyback-converter

IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2016
Transducers based on dielectric elastomers (DE) represent capacitive loads from an electrical point of view. Thus, for an efficient operation of these transducers tailored power electronics are required, preferable with bidirectional energy flow to improve the energy efficiency.

A lossless current sensing technique for flyback converters

2009 35th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2009
Regardless of the feedback control, almost all converters require input or output current sense for overcurrent protection. If a current mode control is implemented, high accuracy is also required. The optimal current sensing method shows the highest accuracy and the lowest power dissipation.

An overview of soft-switching technique for flyback converters

2015 IEEE 11th International Conference on ASIC (ASICON), 2015
Flyback topologies are widely used in low power applications due to the small size and low cost. To improve the efficiency via reducing the switching loss, valley switching technique is introduced and several methods to realize valley switching are analysed and compared.

Design and implementation of an integrated boost-flyback converter

IECON 2015 - 41st Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2015
This paper presents design and implementation of a Integrated boost-flyback converter (IBFC). Operation of the IBFC is described and its key voltage and current equations are given. The practical design of a 96W, 12V-to-48V, IBFC is demonstrated. Experiment on the prototype IBFC shows that it operates with good output voltage regulation and achieves ...

A DC-DC converter with dual flyback converter topology

2013 Twenty-Eighth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2013
A new two-switch flyback converter is proposed in this paper. The most attractive feature of the proposed converter is that both of its main power switches can be made to operate with zero-voltage switching (ZVS) with the help of just one auxiliary circuit consisting of just one active auxiliary switch and a capacitor.

A simulation of conducted EMI in flyback converters

Proceedings of The 7th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2012
The measure of conducted EMI needs strict environment and expensive instruments, most of the designers don't have this condition. So, there are demands for economic forecast of conducted EMI before the product being tested by the government. This paper tries a simulation method to forecast the conducted EMI of a flyback converter.

A 400 W flyback converter

Conference Proceedings., Eleventh International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 2003
It is demonstrated that it is possible to manufacture a very compact high-power switch-mode power supply based on the flyback technique using standard components, with no sacrifice in performance and operation at 80 kHz. A superior flyback converter can be designed on the basis of the following criteria: (1) choosing a pulse ratio to optimize the ...

Circuital and mathematical modelling of flyback converters

2016 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion (SPEEDAM), 2016
A circuital and mathematical modelling of flyback converters is presented in this paper. It accounts for many parasitic elements of each flyback devices, among which transformer leakage inductances and junction capacitances of semiconductor devices. An equivalent circuital representation of the flyback converter is introduced at first, based on which a

A dual mode forward/flyback converter

1982 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists conference, 1982
This paper presents a single transistor dc-dc converter that combines both forward and flyback action. The resulting circuit is ohmically isolated and can operate over a wide range of input-to-output voltage ratios. An analysis of the circuit indicates that the forward and flyback portions of the circuit interact to produce three distinct regions of ...
