FMCW Implementation on LabVIEW
2018 International Conference on Computer and Applications (ICCA), 2018Thereare many possible system implementations for the Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar. In this paper, we will perform a full system level analysis for the implementation of the FMCW using LabVIEW communication. In the FMCW systems, the frequency is modulated at the source in order to measure the distance of the target and the velocity ...

Polarimetric FMCW weather radar
2015 23nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2015This study which was conducted as a Master's thesis, is a radar system working at X band. In this system, a 2 Watt continuous electromagnetic wave which is modulated with frequency ramp of 30 MHz bandwidth is generated and radiated through TX antenna. The scattered signal from the hydrometeors is multiplied with the transmitted one and beat signal is ...

FMCW SAR: From design to realization
2016 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2016This paper presents crucial techniques for the realization of frequency modulated continuous wave synthetic aperture radar (FMCW SAR). To begin with, the principle of FMCW SAR is reviewed in detail, then digital unit is focused to present. The digital unit includes real-time signal processor, mass data storage.

A coverage efficient FMCW positioning system
2016 International Conference on Localization and GNSS (ICL-GNSS), 2016Accurate positioning with a limited number of reference stations is challenging. Several commercial systems achieve good accuracy by increasing the system complexity. Simplifying the system and reducing the number of reference stations is highly desirable. This paper presents a coverage efficient highly integrated local positioning system.

Frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar, optionally with Doppler capability, is applied in atmospheric remote sensing since decades. The method is well understood and documented in its original theoretical analogue representation, as are its inherent restrictions. But since the introduction of the method the digitization has reached many areas

FMCW system aspects for multipath environments
2011 8th Workshop on Positioning, Navigation and Communication, 2011Local positioning systems (LPS) are not only of increasing interest for industrial and commercial applications, but are also required for crisis management to keep track of first responders at all times, both for security and for logistic reasons. In such systems, frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar is widely used.

Performance of an FMCW radar sensor
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1992An FMCW (frequency modulated continuous wave) sensor that uses triangular modulation is considered. The sampled output from two range gates are processed so that the device will initiate some function when it passes through a desired range. An expression is obtained for the detection probability from which the expected value and standard deviation of ...

Implementation of FMCW radar for training applications
2017 4th International Conference on Electrical and Electronic Engineering (ICEEE), 2017In this study, a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar has been implemented. The FMCW is obtained by modulating CW signal. The triangular wave signal has been selected as modulation signal and a modulator circuit has been performed. The FMCW radar system provides the target velocity and range information in sufficient resolution within a 100-

Orthogonal waveforms for FMCW MIMO radar
2011 IEEE RadarCon (RADAR), 2011Multiple input/multiple output (MIMO) radar system performance benefits from the capability to simultaneously transmit and receive multiple orthogonal waveforms. For pulse radars fitting orthogonal waveforms have been developed. These waveforms are however not necessarily suitable for frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar.
