The impact of healthy motion seating on lower‐limb blood flow and blood pressure response to simulated long‐haul air travel

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 3, Page 1513-1523, 1 March 2026.
Abstract Prolonged sitting inherent to long‐haul air travel can acutely decrease lower‐limb blood flow and increase brachial blood pressure. Healthy motion seating (HMS), which passively alters sitting interface pressure and posture, is a promising technology which may attenuate the deleterious effects of long‐haul air travel. The aim of this study was

Impaired nitric oxide‐dependent endothelial function in young male individuals with obesity before the onset of symptoms and complications

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 3, Page 1134-1149, 1 March 2026.
Abstract Endothelial dysfunction drives obesity‐related complications. Doppler ultrasound measurement of blood flow during 1‐min passive leg movements (PLM) is a valuable non‐invasive tool for assessing endothelial function and nitric oxide (NO)‐mediated vasodilation.

NAD+ Homeostasis Attenuates Japanese Encephalitis Virus Infection Progression

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 4, 28 February 2026.
JEV infection in brain tissue triggers inflammation and stress in neuronal cells, leading to NAD+ depletion via the overactivation of PARPs and SIRTs. While compensatory biosynthetic pathways (de novo and salvage) were upregulated, the NAD+ level fell critically. In vitro NAMPT inhibition exacerbates this deficit and viral load.
