FMECA applications and lessons learnt

2015 Annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium (RAMS), 2015
Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) is a very powerful reliability analysis tool when well organized and used in a timely manner. Main objectives of FMECA are to identify the potential failure modes within the system design and to propose any possible mitigation actions.

FMECA development in PLN TRANS-JBTB

2017 International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Power Systems (ICHVEPS), 2017
A Reliable power transmission is one of the asset management objective of PLN Trans-JBTB as a Power Transmission Utility. This objective is measured by frequency and duration outages of transmission line and transformer (TLOD, TROD, TLOF, and TROF) that occur every year.

FMECA-based analyses: A SMART foundation

2017 Annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium (RAMS), 2017
The paper focuses on the current engineering practice on SMART (System Safety, Maintainability, Availability, Reliability, and Testability) engineering using Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) as the fundamental SMART knowledge base.

Study and Improvement of the FMECA in a Production Way

2019
Failure mode and effect and criticity analysis is a tool highly used for the identification and the elimination of the failures. He has been used in the first time by the national aeronautics and space agency on 1977. He has been created as a development methodology.

Calculating Testability Parameters by the Use of FMECA

2018 Annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium (RAMS), 2018
Testability is defined as a design characteristic which allows the status (operable, inoperable or degraded) of an item to be determined and the isolation of faults within the item to be performed in a timely manner. The design must be such that testing is efficient in terms of detecting and isolating the failed items within an acceptable time period.

Application of Fuzzy Logic to Matrix FMECA

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2001
A methodology combining the benefits of Fuzzy Logic and Matrix FMEA is presented in this paper. The presented methodology extends the risk prioritization beyond the conventional Risk Priority Number (RPN) method. Fuzzy logic is used to calculate the criticality rank.

FMECA of the Ajaure Dam - A Methodology Study

2004
In 1998 Vattenfall decided to introduce the use of risk analysis in dam safety in Sweden, by issuing two pilot studies on the Seitevare and Ajaure embankment dams. The objective of these studies was to demonstrate methods to be applied for risk analysis on dams.
